Offseason Update

It's been four months since the last post, but a lot has gone on in the FFLUM. Some changes have been made to the rule book, mostly involving scoring:
  • Pass TDs go from 4 points to 6.
  • INTs now cost QBs -3 points instead of -1.
  • Passing yards go from 20 yds/point to 25 yds/point.
  • Lost fumbles now cost the fumbler -2 points.
  • Receptions now score points on an increment basis: 5 rec = 3 points.
  • Kicking point bonuses and penalties are eliminated: now just 3 points for any-length FG, 1 for XP, no negative points for misses.
Additionally, a change was made to the contract rules as well. Instead of each pick in the first 5 rounds carrying a certain contract length, owners will now be able to decide which players they would like to keep under contract during the week following the draft.

The next event this offseason is elections for Assistant Commissioner (2009-12 term) and Owners' Representative (2009-10 term). More news on that will be posted here when it happens!
